Bio

Emma graduated from the University of Vermont in 2019 with a BS in Ecological Agriculture. As an undergrad, she worked as a research technician and conducted independent research on the swede midge in the Insect Agroecology and Evolution Lab. After taking a year off to work as a distiller’s apprentice in Sonoma County, California, she decided she was ready to return to entomology. In 2021, Emma joined the Precision Pest Ecology lab to pursue a PhD in Entomology focused on optimizing a pheromone lure for the corn wireworm (Melanotus communis), a major wireworm pest particularly in potato and sweetpotato.
